Leveraging the exclusive opportunity of a Chinese blockbuster advance screening event to promote CIBC’s sponsorship campaign.

 

 

Background 

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) is a Canadian multinational banking and financial services corporation headquartered in Toronto. CIBC’s global money transfer business has benefited the immigrant communities to easily send money back to their home countries.

iTalkBB Media partnered with Cineplex, a well-known movie theater brand, to advance CIBC’s sponsorship campaign to promote the international money transfer service through an advanced screening of a popular Chinese movie to reach the broader Chinese community in Canada.

Exclusive Advance Screening Sponsorship

 

By leveraging the exclusive opportunity to the Chinese blockbuster content, iTalkBB Media worked in partnership with Cineplex to host an advanced screening of a popular Chinese movie “The Adventures” to help CIBC further engage with iTalk TV Platforms’ audiences.

The campaign centered around the advanced screening event which resulted in a full house of 250 participants who attended. To accomplish this, iTalkBB Media utilized its multiple media channels to promote the event from TV commercials on iTalk TV Platforms to social media, email newsletters, and in-store poster displays. In addition, the promotion scope also included the collaboration with traditional Chinese newspapers such as Singtao Daily, and Metro News.

Specifically, on social media, iTalkBB Media was able to generate a buzz amount of attention with over 5,000 views on iTalkBB Canada’s WeChat official account (ID:iTalkBBCA) which engaged relevant audiences to attend the screening event. iTalkBB Media also launched a survey with over 2,000 samples collected on iTalkBB Canada’s WeChat official account to learn more about the opportunity of converting potential customers to actual leads. As the sponsoring brand, CIBC ultimately received a full dimensional result and insights to develop the Chinese Canadian market.
